As someone who often gets pulled into very different problems, one of the hardest parts of my job is to build confidence in my product opinion fast. Without conviction that I’m making the right decision, how can I lead? So it’s been key to learn how
This is great. Thanks for sharing. My main issue is that others will always have another opinion, but some, even when they are wrong/will be wrong, say it with so much belief that they make me doubt myself. I think my main issue is that even though I usually have good intuition based on several of the items you wrote in the post, I quickly find myself sharing my opinion but stating that it could be looked at other ways etc. I start confident but leave a way out which makes me less “rock solid” with my opinion.
If it can be looked at other ways, either look at them yourself or listen for others to show you these different perspectives. Don't add unnecessary disclaimers (usually preempting criticism, a reflex we learn to protect ourselves)
Your opinion has value, your intuition and creativity can make a positive difference. Stick up for "them" and trust yourself. Either you're right or you learn :)
Completely agree on talking to customers for building a quick perspective on the product! It also has an added benefit of getting buy-in from customers for future product enhancements for early feedback and ultimately adoption.

Hey friend. Don't undercut yourself like that!
